Fun, Safe, and Confidence-Boosting Activities That Girls Will Love

Here’s the truth: girls learn best when they feel safe, seen, and engaged. That’s why self-esteem work doesn’t always need to be serious—it can be fun, lighthearted, and full of movement and laughter, while still being deeply impactful.

The key? Choose games that help girls celebrate who they are, practice self-kindness, and connect with others in meaningful ways. These five group games are perfect for coaching sessions, afterschool programs, workshops, or anytime you want to boost confidence in a way that feels genuine and joyful.

đź’ˇ Key Takeaways

  • Games are a powerful way to help girls build self-esteem, trust, and emotional resilience

  • Playful environments open the door for honest connection and real self-discovery

  • Simple activities can lead to huge mindset shifts when done with intention

  • These games are designed to help girls feel brave, valued, and confident in who they are

1. Compliment Hot Potato

Use a soft ball or beanbag and pass it around the circle while music plays. When the music stops, the person holding the ball gives a genuine compliment to someone else in the circle. Keep playing until everyone has received (and given) at least one compliment.
This game gets girls moving and smiling while also practicing giving and receiving kind words—something many girls struggle with!

2. Confidence Charades

Instead of traditional charades, create prompts based on confident actions: speaking in class, trying a new activity, standing up for a friend, sharing your opinion. Girls act out the scenario while the others guess—and then talk briefly about what confidence looks and feels like in real life.
It’s a silly, low-pressure way to build emotional awareness and normalize courage.

3. Strengths Scavenger Hunt

Write empowering qualities (like kind, funny, creative, generous, determined) on slips of paper and hide them around your meeting space. Have girls find one, then pair up with someone else to share a story about a time they showed that strength.
This game helps girls name and own their positive traits, and it often sparks beautiful moments of pride and connection.

4. “If You Really Knew Me…” Circle Game

In a safe, supportive setting, invite girls to complete the sentence: “If you really knew me, you’d know…”
You can start with light-hearted rounds (e.g. “I hate ketchup!”) and move into more heartfelt shares if the group feels ready. This builds self-awareness, vulnerability, and trust—three key ingredients of true self-esteem.

5. Affirmation Freeze Dance

Play upbeat music and let the girls dance around the space. When the music stops, call out a prompt like:

  • Shout out something you love about yourself!

  • Strike a power pose!

  • Point to someone who inspires you!
It’s high-energy, empowering, and guaranteed to leave girls laughing and glowing with self-worth.
