OUR STORY · 15 YEARS IN THE MAKING

We've Spent 15 Years Learning What Actually Works for Girls.

In 2004, I walked into my first school with a simple mission: Create a Kinder Girl World.

It started with one room of girls and a conviction.

In 2011, I stood in front of my first room of girls with no curriculum, no brand, and no plan beyond this: girls deserved better than the messages the world was sending them about who they were allowed to be.

That one room became another. Then a summit. Then school programs, workshops, and a movement that grew far beyond anything I imagined. Over fifteen years, FearlesslyGiRL reached more than 150,000 girls around the world, partnered with brands like Nike, Dove, Instagram, and HBO, and was featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Vogue, and ESPN.

The most important thing I learned in fifteen years: I was never the point.

For a long time, I thought the way to reach more girls was for me to stand on more stages. But the real magic was never one woman with a microphone. It was what happened in the weeks after, when a girl had a consistent, caring woman in her own community showing up for her with the right tools in her hands.

Her teacher. Her coach. Her mentor. Her mom.

So FearlesslyGiRL evolved. Today, everything we do serves one mission: equipping women to lead girls. Every workshop, program, and activity we spent fifteen years testing with real girls in real rooms is now in the hands of women around the world, along with the training to lead it brilliantly and the business tools to be paid properly for work that matters.

Kate Whitfield is the founder of FearlesslyGiRL, a speaker, girls empowerment expert, kindness advocate and the author of Creating A Kinder Girl World (Spring 2026). For 15 years she has been one of North America's leading voices on girls' empowerment, adolescent wellbeing, and school culture transformation.

She has advised the Prime Minister of Canada directly on issues affecting young women, spoken at schools and conferences across North America, and built a movement that reaches millions — not through viral moments, but through the slow, meaningful work of showing up for girls year after year.
